Invisalign® aligners are a revolutionary, removable, and almost invisible orthodontic treatment system.
They are an extremely popular and effective alternative to traditional metal braces, with more and more people turning to this option every day.
If you suffer from crooked, misaligned teeth, we are here to provide the solution that leaves you with a smile you feel proud of.
At The Gentle Dental, we have many different types of braces and payment plans available, making it easy to find the option most suitable for you.
Invisalign is a form of braces, consisting of clear tray aligners that are made by a specialised type of plastic that is only 0.8mm thick, strong enough to put pressure on your teeth so that they will eventually adjust the position.
We understand that wearing braces as an adult is not the desired situation for most people, and some people feel just as self-conscious about wearing the braces, as they do about their uneven or crooked teeth.
However, Invisalign has been designed and manufactured to ensure it is both discreet and comfortable for patients from start to finish of the treatment period.
The Invisalign aligner system is an excellent choice for patients who want to achieve a straighter smile but also want to avoid the striking look of metal braces.
The first step of the Invisalign journey entails consultation with one of our skilled orthodontists. We will assess your smile and overall oral health, then take impressions of your mouth.
Next, we can then create Invisalign aligners that are perfectly suited to align with your mouth.
To make your custom set of Invisalign aligners, 3D computer imaging technology we use as scanner called iTERO is used to take a precise scan of your teeth and gums.
The scan will give us an after-treatment simulation of what your teeth would look like before you commit to any further costs.
We will create a unique treatment plan specialised to your personal needs, so you are fully aware of the next steps in achieving the results you are looking for.
Many people tend to choose to whiten their teeth and complete their treatment with some composite bonding or porcelain veneers to achieve a full enhanced appearance
Once your aligners have been manufactured, you must wear them for around two weeks before we create a new, altered mould to fit your teeth after they have moved.
The moulds work by putting enough pressure on the teeth so that they can move slightly with each aligner.
Every time we create a new mould, the teeth will move closer to the desired final positioning.
Some Invisalign treatments can work faster than traditional metal braces.
Some of the treatments that require traditional metal braces can take around 2 years (24 months) on average to achieve their full effect.
Usually, aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day for 4 to 18 months, depending on your desired results and the severity of your case.
Unlike traditional braces, you can remove your Invisalign aligners to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
The best advice is that if you want to get the most out of your Invisalign investment then you should make sure to wear your aligner as often as possible.
Additionally, you must maintain good oral health and keep your teeth clean throughout your treatment process.
Wear your retainer as instructed to help your teeth remain in their new positions.

Although at The Gentle Dental we are highly invested in the success rate and effectiveness of the Invisalign system, there are (like every teeth straightening system) some downsides to consider.
Some issues people have reported with the Invisalign system is the hassle of having to remove the aligners while drinking coffee, slight discomfort when changing to new aligners (which happens around every 2 weeks), having to remember to put your aligners in, in the morning.
Although these are minor inconveniences for the results of a new and improved, straight smile, if Invisalign doesn’t appeal to you then there are some alternative options available:
