The World’s Best Aligner System: The Many Different Versions of Invisalign

Invisalign is one of the world’s most popular orthodontic treatments to reverse uneven smiles.

For years, we have seen the successes of Invisalign brace systems like Invisalign Go and Full realign adult smiles flawlessly and discreetly.

Today, Invisalign goes further and does more to protect and even out smiles right from the very start with specifically designed systems for children and teens.

The facts:

  • Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign can be completed in 3-12 months
  • Invisalign is hardly noticeable and removable
  • Invisalign can have a huge impact on your oral state, health, and hygiene
  • The clear aligners can relieve problems brought on by Bruxism and gum disease

Invisalign for Adults

Below are the recommended treatments for patients aged 18 and above…

Invisalign Go

  • Treatment length: Designed to be completed in 3 months
  • Cost: From £2,500

  • Class 1 malocclusions that avoid tooth extraction
  • Moderate crowding
  • Spacing issues
  • Normal and balanced bites

Invisalign Go is perfect for working hand in hand with other cosmetic or restorative procedures, for example, this version of Invisalign is often used to improve the results of more targeted treatments like veneers, crowns, and implants.

Invisalign Go often helps with pre-implant spacing, alignment for veneers and crowns as well as realigning your teeth for composites or bridges.

Invisalign Lite

  • Treatment length: Designed to be completed in 4-8 months
  • Cost: From £3,000

  • Restricted to class 1 cases

This is one of our most common packages consisting of 14 aligner treatments.

It can move all the teeth in the jaw and can deal with mild-moderate crowding where seven aligners aren’t enough.

Many of our patients achieve the perfect smile with this package.

Invisalign Full

  • Treatment length: Designed to be completed in 4-8 months
  • Cost: From £4,000

  • Most dentition types
  • Severe and complex malocclusions

This is the package where 14 aligners are not enough to achieve the perfect smile.

Patients who need Invisalign Full packages typically need 7 – 18 months’ worth of aligners to achieve the desired result.

Many of our patients that have this package may not have had orthodontic treatment in the past.

With this Invisalign package, both upper and lower jaws must be treated.

This is because the bite is a complex relationship between the two arches and when it comes to perfecting it, the jaws come into play as well.

Single arch treatment can disrupt the bite and leave you worse off than you were before braces or Invisalign.

Invisalign i7

  • Treatment length: Treatment can take less than six months
  • Cost: From £1,500

  • For minor, class 1 classifications

This type of Invisalign treatment is ideal for the mildest cases – for someone who needs a slight tweak to push or rotate the front 4 upper or lower incisor teeth.

The movement is completed over seven aligners.

Many of our clients that have i7 are those that had orthodontic treatment in the past and are starting to see relapse and would like to correct it before it worsens.

Invisalign for Teens

  • Treatment length: 12 months
  • Cost: From £4,000

  • Class 2 crowded and crooked teeth
  • Gaps between teeth (up to 6mm)
  • Deep bites, underbite, open bite, and crossbite

Differing from conventional, non-removable braces, wires, and brackets, Invisalign aims to use a series of aligners that can be removed up to 2 hours a day.

This means that this straightening system does not interrupt or interfere with your teenager’s daily life.

Some of our teenage patients feel self-conscious about having braces and are less than thrilled about the food restrictions that fixed braces can have and the oral hygiene requirements.

Its comfortable, convenient, and designed with the younger mouths in mind.

Working very similarly to other Invisalign systems, Invisalign Teen has some minor adjustments that make it the most suitable treatment for teens – these include:

  • Blue wear indicators that fade from blue to clear, will help to identify how long the aligners have been worn for and help your teen manage their progress
  • Specially designed to include additional features that will direct the teeth as they grow into correct alignment.

Invisalign for Children

  • Treatment length: Between 4-6 months
  • Cost: From £3,000

Invisalign First also referred to as Phase 1 is designed for growing smiles. Similar in its features to Invisalign Teen, these initial aligners target a broad range of simple issues such as crowding, spacing, and narrow dental arches.

To qualify for this treatment you will need to be aged 6-10; this is the best time to begin orthodontic treatment.

Overall advantages of Invisalign systems

  • Safe, stable, and secure
  • Practically invisible
  • Strengthens the oral state
  • Faster and easier
  • No stigma
  • Require fewer appointments, check-ups, and treatment times
  • Does not disrupt activities like sports and playing musical instruments
  • 40% fewer appointments compared to traditional braces
  • Less likely to need an emergency appointment
  • 3D digital planning for complete accuracy and precision

Which type is right for you?

To be really clear, finding the right type of Invisalign for your condition will only truly be revealed once you have undergone an orthodontic consultation.

These Invisalign consultations are uniquely designed to tell us everything we need to know about your mouth and teeth – that’s why Invisalign is so successful because it allows the patient to see the accurate and precise results we will achieve before we even begin.

It opens clear communication between us and the patient so they can truly see how their teeth will move and what the final result will look like.
